Personal Approach
My priority as a therapist is to tailor my approach to each person's needs and preferred way of working and to provide a relationship that is empathic, respectful and authentic. I hold the philosophical belief that people are essentially OK, have the capacity for growth and make decisions about their life and that these decisions can be changed. In my clinical practice, I use an integrative approach which draws upon a number of orientations such as Transactional Analysis, CBT, Psychoanalysis and Person Centred in order to maximise the benefit of therapy within the timeframe available. Regardless of my approach, I believe that the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist helps to facilitate healing, insight and personal growth.
Personal Background
I have lived in Britain for 32 years, prior to this I lived in Austria, Africa and Brazil, I embrace and respect cultural and individual difference and am sensitive to issues around change and adjustment. Before training to become a psychotherapist, I worked as an Organisational Psychologist and Change Management Consultant where I developed an interest in issues relating to work and work/life balance.
